FAO’s global cereal production in 2023 estmates is lowered by 4 MMT from earlier estimate of July due to downward prospects of Wheat production . Wheat output is pegged at 781.1 million tons, which is lower by 2.2 MMT from July estimate. Downward estimate have been made as production in Canada, Eurpoean union likely to fall due to dry weather production forcast in China also reduced due to heavy rains in producing regions . Production forecasts raised for U.S.A, India and Ukraine. World Maize production forecast raised by 3.6 million tons and is now forecast to produce a record high of 1215 million tons. Better crops in Brazil and Ukraine where Maize yields are exceding earlier estimates are supported for upward revision.
