According to Internarnational Grains Council, global grains production for 2023-24 is lifted by 3MMT to 2295 MMT from earlier estimates. Upgraded outlook for maize, corn on reports of better than expected. USA yeilds and increased wheat production outlook, reflecting latest updates from Ukraine, Russia and Turkey. At 2308MMT the projection for grains comsumption is also 3MMT higher month over month with most of the adjustment for maize. With supplies boosted by an increased estimate of opening stock, the forcasts for season’s carry over is up by 3 MMT to 585 MMT. World trade also projected to increase by 1MMT as upward adjustments for maize shipments more than compensates for cuts in wheat and Sorghum, according to IGC.
