The Ghana government has announced a downward review of raw cashew nut price for 2024 crop season with effect from January 2024. Prices were set at GHC 7 as against the initial price of GHC 8.5 per killo according to the news sources. Decline in quality is main reason for decreasing prices. Down grade of Ghanian cashew quality has caused to reduction in price from US $ 1080 to US $ 880 per ton in International Market. Upward review is possible after 2 months if the quality improves. Ghana is one of the top exporter of RCN in West Africa with about 350,000 tons is expected to be exported in 2024.
