Vietnam’s Black pepper output in 2023-24 is forecasted to be lower by 15% from last year due to lower production as many farmers have switched to growing other remunerative crops. Vietnam has exported 207,000 tons of pepper in first 9 months of 2023 which is higher by 18.7% from the same period of last year and turn over is at $ 685 million lower by 11.1% from the corresponding period of last year. Vietnam has sold major portion of its production and current in ventory is established at 30000 to 40000 tons and production during nest harvest is estimated at 140000 to 150000 tons which is significantly lower as compared to last year according to the news sources.
